Oil Tank Replacement
We have been carrying out oil tank replacements for almost 30 years and have a wealth of experience when it comes to advising customers on the type of tank they can have installed and where it can be located in order to meet OFTEC regulations.
Most customers only consider replacing their oil tank when it begins to leak or has a major defect such as a seized isolation valve. In some cases, where the tank is leaking, we might offer our emergency pump out service to safely contain the oil until the replacement tank can be fitted (an extra charge would apply for an emergency pump out).
Our replacement tank service is a complete service that does not require you to employ any other tradesman – we carry out all of the work from start to finish leaving you with a fully compliant oil tank delivering clean oil to your appliances (e.g. boiler).

Relocate Your Tank
As part of our free site survey we can provide advice on possible new locations that comply with current building regulations, and provide quotations for carrying out the work you require. In addition to this we will advise you if it is safe to reuse you existing tank, or whether it is better to consider installing a new tank.

Oil Tank Removal
If you want your oil tank removed, along with any of the contents, then we can help.
In cases where the oil tank can be reused, or where you have a significant amount of oil left over, we will offer to reduce our costs for this service.
We can also remove supporting piers and oil tank bases as part of this service.

New Tank Installations
Boiler installers will quite often provide a quotation for installing both the oil appliance (e.g. boiler, AGA etc.) as well as the oil tank.
We would suggest asking your boiler installer to break the quotation down into two parts: boiler installation and tank/oil line installation, and then call us to carry out a free site survey for installing the oil tank/oil line. Emergency Pump Out
Hidden from view at the bottom of the garden, most home owners often forget to check the condition of oil tanks periodically for signs of leaks, which can often result in a costly oil spill or at the very least, a rush to get the tank replaced.
Temporary Tanks - Our emergency pump out service is designed to help customers whose oil tank has suddenly sprung a leak and is threatening to contaminate the ground leading to costly insurance claims. We can pump out and temporarily store any amount of heating oil you have. Your oil would be pumped into a temporary Bunded / Double Skinned holding tank for safety, & left at your property until a new tank has been installed. A new temporary oil feed pipe can also be installed to enabled continued use of your Oil Fired appliance, to keep the Heat On.

Water & Contaminant Removal
We recommend that you at least have your oil tank checked regularly to determine if water is present and if it has reached a level where it needs to be removed.
Our water and contamination removal involves pumping all of the contents out of your tank and, if possible, tilting your tank slightly to ensure all of it has been removed. We then pump just the clean oil back into your tank and retest it to ensure all of the water has been removed. If necessary we can also flush water and other contaminates from your oil line. The whole process takes around an hour.

Oil Line Repairs & Replacement
The oil line is often overlooked, but it is something we always check at least visually when installing a new tank.
Leaks can occur over the years and to avoid loss of oil content as well as preventing damage and contamination of the surrounding area, TankChange Ltd in Stowmarket can take all the necessary action to deal with the leak.
Dealing with oil line issues - If you have a problem with your oil line such as a leaking joint, or you would like it replaced or rerouted then we can help. We also undertake emergency oil tank work.

Oil Tank Servicing
There are several components involved here: the tank itself, the main isolation valve, filters, oil line, joints, non-return valves, fire valves and gauges. An oil tank service should consider all of these components to ensure the reliability and safety of the complete system.
Regular Servicing - The servicing of your oil tank can help prevent the need for emergency pump outs and repairs. A service can also highlight potential problems in advance, thereby enabling action to be taken as a preventative measure - potentially saving larger repair costs at a later date.
